Create a Critter Croc

Hello everyone! It's finally Halloween! I can't wait to take my son out trick or treating and see all the fun ghouls and ghosts tonight! I wanted to do a challenge today for M.A.G Challenge #2. I LOVE that this is a challenge blog that gives you a page from a certain cartridge to work from each week! You should check them out!
I got a 1 lb pack of scraps at HL that had this fun looking brown leather like paper in it (Its the reason I got the pack) and I just knew that one day I would be using that paper! And I was right! The grass, croc outter layer, and yellow layer are all from that pack. Its Handmade paper from TPS. He is cut at 1.8  and the bird is cut at 1.5. I used paper from DCWV's Amber Autumn  for the mat (Which I distressed with TH's Aged Mahogany) and the bird (Which was distressed with TH's Wild Honey).
Card cut at 5 x 7 using Kraft card stock and the mat is 4 3/4 x 6 3/4.
The sentiment is from Clearly defined Small Tag Lines. The clouds are cut on the Imagine at 3.7. And last but not least the grass is the MS grass border punch.
I used Stampin Up's deminsionals to put the Croc on and double layered the deminsionals to make the bird seem to be standing on the croc.

Hope you like it!

Freezer Paper Stencil Tee #2 & 3

Here is a shirt for my son. I cut from 3 different cartridges for this one and I can't remember what they were sorry :( (skull and crossbones with flames). The camouflage shirt is for a friend of ours son. We didn't want it to be too white so its painted on sort of like a silhouette. Again I don't remember where the dear came from, but the grass is a MS border punch.

Hope you like them.

Freezer Paper Stencil Tee

Ok so I have been wanting to try a shirt I had seen on the Cricut blog as it seemed to be so easy... And well... Yes it is! Although I did learn from the first shirt to have a full length table under the shirt and not just a TV tray! I still like the results either way. I used the Cars cart for Peace sign and the word "Peace" was from the font on the Rock Princess Cart. I placed the peace sign on my gypsy first then placed the letters and shifted them so they were circled around the sign. Then flipped the design after welding it. Because I used freezer paper to make my stencil. When you use freezer paper on the cricut the dull side sticks much better on the mat than the shiny. After I cut it out I then ironed the freezer paper onto my shirt shiny side down. I used Tulip Fabric Spray paint (white) that I got at Micheal's. Going to make my son and daughter one sometime this weekend.

Crazy Birthday Card

Ok so I have a co-worker who just seems to make everyone laugh and we all really enjoy her company. Her favorite saying is "It's all About ME!" (When really its not but we wont tell her that, cause she thinks she has us fooled into believing she really feels that way lol). Well anyways, I had to make her a card for her *cough cough* "21st" birthday. (Who really says someone else's REAL age on a post? LOL). She does love to have original, out of this world, items. So I played this card up a bit. (My daughter said its fat lol).

It's late so I really don't have directions. It has lots of color and bling and all sorts of things

Thanks for looking

My daughter and I were playing around with tulip paints and shirts. Here are some Halloween shirts we made today! I made the one's with Boo on them (one for me and one for my son) And my daughter made the Happy Halloween one. She meant to put 2010 but instead put her graduation year but I like it! They both have lots of glow in the dark paint on them!
We are hoping they are good enough for the challenge though! Happy Halloween everyone!

Our Family's loss today

Today is a sad day for my family. Today we lost a part of our family when we had to take our family cat Nacho to the vet to be put down. He had contracted severe Urinary tract issues that even if we treated for would be an issue the rest of his life. Many cat's can live with this situation however Nacho wasn't your average cat. He had what the vet called Kitty Crones (bowel issues). So he was already on a special diet for this. Both problems could not be treated without irritating the other. My DS took him to vet together and held onto him while they gave him the injection. At least he is no longer in pain as it did go really fast. WE love you Nacho and will miss you dearly! The collage below were all pictures take today. He was almost 8 years old.

Day 2 Count down to Karlee on My Pink Stamper

Wow ok so I planned on getting all of her challenges done today after I finished the project for my son's class. But its really late and I have to be somewhere. So this will be the only one I get done today! I just got my Rock Princess cart in and had to make something so why not something cute for Halloween! I also got some smooch spray in the mail from a friend and had to try it out on this card. LOVIN it! I made all the colors for the skeleton with my IMAGINE!! So a first time messing with the RGB codes and I am so glad I finally did as this is awesome. No more searching for the right color!

Hope you guys enjoy, thanks for stopping by!

Anniversary Card

Happy Friday everyone... I spent the day doing well, pretty much nothing but going to garage sale's & the cheap dollar stores around town. Today is DH's and My Anniversary so I made him a card. I didn't want it to be too girly though as he is not into those sorts of things (might worry if he was). Its a woman's touch kind of card with a lil' bit o' man in it. (I used brads that look like screws for the matting lol). He actually said it was a pretty neat card, which for him to say something like that is really awesome cause he is the funny guy in the family and his usual response is "Swell". :) love it. So really its just a gate card cut at 10 x 7 and then scored at 2 1/2 and scored again at 7 1/2. I made the matt on the outside 6 inches for the first layer (might be 6 1/2) and then just layered down from there. The sentiment on the card is all done on my computer. Outside it says Happy Anniversary and on the inside I just couldn't resist to keep with the "funny" man aspect of my marriage. It says "After 6 years in this sacred institution of marriage, I can safely say: There's no one else with whom I would rather be institutionalized!"
This was also my first attempt at doing some embossing with glitter and well.. lets just say the jury is still out on this until I can get my scrap room and really play around with it. It's just too messy to do at my dinning room table.
Going to work on some of my challenges I am behind on this weekend so you will see more posted from me. And while I was out and about I picked up things here and there to put together some blog candy for something special! I will get a pic of it all later and get it posted with the rules for entry!

Count down to Karlee Day 1 Challenge!

So here is my submission for Robyn's (My Pink Stamper) The Count down to Karlee Day 1 Challenge.

I have never made a box before this and (don't tell Robyn) but I made it all by hand! No Cricut involved... I used my Martha Stewart Score board, and circle cutter. The stamp of course is one of Robyn's from her Buggy Punnies set. I actually just sat on the livingroom floor and made this while watching TV with the kids. The paper is from SEI, something I had totally forgotten I had. I wanted two sided paper for the box so I dug out all I had and this paper just stuck out like a sore thumb yelling "I'm perfect for you!!!". And yup... it was right :) The pictures honestly do NOT do the colors justice. But my daughter stole my good camera so these will have to do.

Happy Scrappin during the countdown!

***I took better pictures with my good camera - see the last two pics***

DC card & CAC card

I worked on a card for my friend tonight and thought I would share it with you. I used Doodle Charms cart to make the Popsicle into a card on my Gypsy by welding two of them together. I used stickles in the cut portion (Diamond) and then put Glossy Accents over it to puff it up. I used My Pink Stamper's stamp from her Fruit & Veggie Puns set. The inside of the card is all the same color but I could not get the picture to come out right, so it looks like I used two different colors. Pretty simple card really, just took awhile to wait for the Glossy Accents to dry.
While I was waiting for the Popsicle card, I was wanting more to do, so I took the scrap paper from the orange part of the card (Core'dinations Cardstock) and started trying my hand at sewing some Embroidery thread on paper.  I had not done it as of yet but had bought the stuff to do it. I thought it turned out pretty good so I just had to use it with a card! So I made a lil monster from the Create a Critter cart and it just sort of came together from there. I used Martha Stewart's Sticky Goo punch & the stamp on the front is from Micheal's in the dollar bin. On the inside I used a stamp from a garage sale I picked up somewhere so I can not tell you where it came from. Of course its all highlighted with gel pen faux stitching! The base of the card is paper from K & Company there "Spooktacular" pack.

Hope you all enjoy and have a scrappy day!

How to Make the Puzzle

I don't have a video camera but there is a die cut for the Cuttlebug that cuts anything you put into it as a puzzle. I posted a picture of it below. Sorry for the glare but it is metal and I could not get it to stop.
The Snowman/Santa picture which was a digital image, was cut out at 4x6 then the mats were from smaller to biggest 4 1/8x 6 1/8 (red) - 4 1/4x 6 1/4 (white)- 4 3/8 x 6 3/8 (red). Make sure when you mat them all together that you also glue in the middle alot so that when the Cuttelbug cuts the pieces it all stays glued.
For the bag I used a bag from Micheal's "Transparent Archival Bags" - 5 3/4 x 7 3/4 - I only used these as this was the smallest I had so you might be able to buy smaller ones. I cut a piece of paper 5 3/4 x 2 1/4 & folded in half to make it 5 3/4 x 1 1/8. I stapled that to the top of the bag to close it. Then cut out a red piece of paper 5 5/8 x 1 to go over the top to hide the staples. Then decorated the red paper. The digital pic on the outside is a wallet sized picture of the puzzle I just used my ATG to glue on.
Hope this is understandable as I have never written a tutorial before.
Thanks for all the great responses!

Lisa's Scrapin Shack

Here is my entry for My Pink Stamper's Saturday Challenge. Its a puzzle I made with my Cuttlebug.
I am putting them in the bags with the full picture on the front.
After I made this I thought it would be an awesome idea to make multiple of them, so that my son can
hand them out in class around Christmas.
Hope you like them!

Still around..

Ok so I have not had much time to scrap lately as I had a full weekend last weekend going camping with my son's boy scout troop. It was a BLAST! (Even though it got down into the lower 30's the second night camping in a tent!). I was so upset with myself as I forgot my camera too! I did manage to get one picture on my phone of all the things... my son learning how to start a fire without matches or a lighter! (Ohhh help me here lol). I will figure out how to get that picture on here later though. Or will use it to make a scrap page and post it! (Ok so I just figured out how to get the picture on here! HA!
Still working on those bags for halloween but will try to work on something else this weekend AFTER I go to the Convention in KC for scrapbooking! This will be my first one guys! My SIL told me to take ONLY cash and no debit cards or credit cards because she says I will go nuts once I am there if I have that plastic in hand. I think she knows me pretty well huh?
